World's most expensive purse

Made out of platinum and set with over 2,000 diamonds - totalling 208 carats - the petite clutch is the ultimate accessory for the woman who has everything.

But if its price tag seems a little steep, prospective buyers should bear in mind that the bag is nothing if not versatile.

Its diamond-encrusted strap can be detatched and worn as a necklace or bracelet and it also features an eight carat pear-shaped diamond that can be worn separately as a brooch.

The bag was created by Japenese designer Ginza Tanaka.

It is valued at more than £1 million and is the showpiece of London Jewellery Week, which is sponsored by private bank Coutts.

The bag will go on display at a number of stores across the capital before being sold, but organisers have not disclosed which shops will get the honour of hosting the handbag.

London Jewellery Week runs from June 11-15.
